World War 2 Aircraft Crashes

 
Felsted and Little Dunmow sat at the centre of a triangle of air fields constructed by the United States Army Air Force when they joined the war. The first operational base was at Great Saling and was named Andrew's Field. The others were at Boreham and Great Dunmow.

A comment by long time villager Ray Crozier set me on the search for the records of a crash at the old sugar factory site, now Flitch Green. That search brought to light the following information. Where I have been able to find detailed information I have created a separate page (linked below)
